Off to Burma!

I'm moving out of the village tomorrow morning!!! That's right...tonight is my last night to sleep in my bed in Sop Soi. Tomorrow morning is the last time I'll wake up to the sound of my neighbors' roosters.

It's a weird feeling to know this chapter of my life is over. And though Dave and I hope to return to field as long-term missionaries, it's hard to say exactly when or exactly where we will go. So for now, goodbye Thailand! Goodbye Shan people!

Though we leave the village tomorrow, we're not quite leaving East Asia. Dave and I have been hosting a short-term team from Boston these past few weeks. In a couple days, we'll be taking that team into Burma to prayerwalk in the heart of Shan-land. Please be praying for us during this time. We will not have access to email. So you won't hear much from me until August 5th or so. But don't forget us! Burma can be a spiritually oppressive place. May God keep us healthy in body, mind, and spirit.

Here's an overview of upcoming travel dates:

July 24 (tomorrow morning): leave the village for Chaing Mai
July 26-Aug 5: prayerwalking in Burma with the team
Aug 5-11: working on the prayer guide in Chaing Mai with the team
Aug 11: say goodbye to the team (who are awesome and have agreed to take tons of our luggage home for us!!!)
Aug 11-15: tie up loose ends in Thailand
Aug 15: fly to Boston!!!

Once in Boston, Dave and I will spend a couple weeks with his family and friends. We'll then pack everything up in a Uhaul and head on down to Texas!!! Should be in the Lone Star State by September 1st (or thereabouts).

Wow!!!
