When we weren't teaching, we spent a lot of time hanging out with our students. One of our favorite places to go was "Tham Plaa," a local set of caves with a small river where huge fish love to gather. It's a big tourist attraction (one of the only tourist attractions in the area)...but it's also a place where the local Shan kids enjoy swimming and hiking. We thought it was pretty fun, too.
